Why Re-Order Links Within a Trail?
There are two reasons to change the order of the links in a trail:
- You want the links in a particular order in My Nest and in the toolbar so you can access them the way you want to.
- You are trying to present the links in a trail for use by others in a particular order. For example, you might place links that act as good introductions to the trail at the beginning, followed by deeper or more specific links.
How To Re-Order the Links in a Trail
Following are instructions on how to re-order links in a trail:
- First go to My Nest by clicking the My Nest link in the upper right corner of any page on the site. If you do not see the My Nest link, then you need to sign in by clicking the Sign In link in the upper right corner of any page.
- Once you are in My Nest, click the Trails tab.
- On this page, click on the trail you want to work with in the Trails column. That trail's links are presented in the Links column on the right.
- Now click on the link you want to move and drag the link up or down in the Links column. You will see a green horizontal bar displayed between links as you drag the link up or down. This green bar indicates where the link will be placed if you drop the link while the green bar is displayed. If you drag the link near the top or bottom of the Links column and hold it there, the column will scroll up or down to let you drag and drop the link to positions in the trail that were not previously visible.
- Drop the link when the green bar is displayed between the links where you want to move the link. The Links column is updated and re-displayed, with the link in its new position.
- Repeat the drag and drop process on the links in the trail until you are satisfied with the new order.
After You Re-Order the Links in a Trail
After you have re-order the links in your trail, here are some other things you may want to do:
- View It. Go to My Nest and click the Trails tab, and then find and click on the trail name link in the Trails column. A menu is displayed. Click the View menu command, and the trail page for this trail is displayed. This is how other users will see your trail with the new link order.
