Our vision for AntStorm™ is to change the world - to make it a better place for our generation and those that follow us. We are going to do this by converging social bookmarking, a human-powered search engine, and a strong charitable focus into something new and compelling.

Import your bookmarks into the AntStorm site, and you can access them anytime anywhere from any Web-connected computer. You can use a rich drag-and-drop Web interface to keep your bookmarks organized. And you can easily access your bookmarks and add to your bookmarks even when you're not on the AntStorm site using the AntStorm toolbar.

Finding New Web Resources on Your Favorite Topics

Better yet, AntStorm enables you to connect with others who share your interests to collaboratively suggest and vote on the best links about any topic that interests you. It's social networking effectively applied to bookmark management, and it will expose you to new sites and resources about the specific topics that interest you - resources you likely would not find on your own. The automated messaging and democratic voting system is very novel and addictive - we highly recommend you try it!

Helping Others Search Better and Faster

While the first two parts of the AntStorm site described above are compelling today, eventually this service will also give birth to a new kind of search engine. These lists of the best links about a given topic can also be thought of as a pre-packaged search result. And rather than a list of robotically indexed web pages matched by keyword, they will be the result of months of exploration and the editorial judgment of a group of people who have a particular interest and expertise in a topic. These lists will be indexed by Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft and other major search engines. If you participate in AntStorm, you'll be helping others find better information faster, so we don't all re-create the wheel, researching the same topics over and over again.

Helping the Charities That Make Our World a Better Place

Finally, we plan to change the world for the better by using this company to funnel massive amounts of money into the charitable organizations that make a positive difference in the world. We will take the advertising revenue from our site and give 10% of the revenue to charities. The users who contribute the content to the site will have the control to direct the distribution of these funds to any of 1.5 million charities. Google today generates $12 billion per year in revenues. Imagine if we can - together - build a company of that size. We could distribute $2 billion per year to the charities that fight hunger, protect our environment, cure our diseases, educate our children, and provide a wide variety of other critical services to humanity throughout the world.
