Our Support for Charities

Social Entrepreneurship

Social entrepreneurship is one of the cornerstones of what we do at AntStorm. What does "social entrepreneurship" mean? Generally speaking it means that we have created AntStorm with the idea of blending the two goals of making a profit and bringing about positive social change. We believe these two goals can be held in balance in the corporate world, and we hope to make a tremendous positive difference in the world through what we do professionally.

Let's Get More Specific

OK, so that sounds good, but what does it really mean? Does it mean we all volunteer our time one day per year to help our favorite charity? No, it's actually much more than that. It's a more thorough hybrid blending of the prototypical startup business venture with a more socially oriented charitable organization. What it means specifically is that AntStorm is going to take a significant chunk of our revenue and distribute it to the charities that are working so hard to make our world a better place. And we are going to do that by letting you - the users of our site - decide what charities get this money. Our initial stake in the ground is to distribute 10% of our revenue - not our bottom line profit but our top line revenue - to charitable organizations. To be completely transparent, we're guessing at future profit margins in setting this percentage, so we may or may not need to adjust it as the business shakes out and becomes predictable. But if you help us to make this a big business, this could easily generate hundreds of millions of dollars to charities each year.

How Does It Work

This will take you to the page that lists all of our help topics. Scroll down that page and look for the heading "Earning Money for Charities". You can click the links under that heading to learn all about how the money is generated and distributed.
