How To Assign a Trail to a Group
Following are instructions on how to assign a trail to a group:
- First go to My Nest by clicking the My Nest link in the upper right corner of any page on the site. If you do not see the My Nest link, then you need to sign in by clicking the Sign In link in the upper right corner of any page.
- Once you are in My Nest, click the Trails tab. Then either click the "Add new" link at the top of the Trails column, or click on a trail name link in the Trails column, and click the Edit command in the menu. In either case, you will see a trail editor interface displayed in the Trails column on a yellow background.
- In this yellow area, you will see a list box labeled "Group" displaying the choice "I am acting as an individual author". Click this list box and you will see a list of all the groups of which you are a member. If you are not a member of any groups, you must first create or join a group before you can assign your trail to a group.
- In the Group list box, select the group that you want to assume control of the trail. If you are creating a new trail, also enter the name and description for the trail.
- Click the Save link at the bottom of the yellow edit area.
- Your request to have the group assume control of this trail is now submitted to the group for a vote. A message is delivered to the Inbox of each member of the group. You can go to My Nest to your own Inbox and click the New Trail Request link in the first column for this request to see who and how many members of the group have voted for or against accepting the trail.
